Generating them is a pain. I've written some code for wow blender studio to do it, but it isn't properly integrated yet

Is there an external tool for just standard retroported wmo's or can you share that code so we could make an app?

There's a version for it in WBS already, but it's lacking some polish which can make them look a bit distorted (WMO minimaps are very different from terrain minimaps)

This is the latest version I wrote that I use private for Project Epoch. It needs a blpconverter for converting outputs to blps

But I recommend using the WBS version for now, even though it's a bit imperfect it can be improved and there is support for it over at the WBS discord channel

for retroported wmos, look for the original minimaps better instead of doing them from 0 yeah, should be quite easy to find them with the md5translate.trs, i think it's 100% the same still in retail

I just never understood them before with wmo's I tried to associate the minimaps with wmo's and it was still showing up as just a black texture
