He probably means honor points or whatever the PVP currency is.

i think there's a few that actually have hardcoded behavior tied to them (just a vague memory that some problem i had looked like that) but other family ids can be whatever, you have billions of them

You need to regenerate maps, vmaps, and mmaps for your custom map.
Make sure when running each program that it loads your custom MPQ and map ID
