there are some things that will just break the compiler. Daisy-chaining some template methods long enough like the ones in sol2 has done that for me

but unless you did something insane that's unlikely, rebuild and checking memory/storage/pagefile fixes 90% of virtual memory issues

i remember on my old pc i had just enough swap space and ram for it to compile if i ran nothing else on the pc
