I recall that time period. The most custom server out at the time had a single new class added to it in perpetual alpha testing with some janky spells

Still probably the most enjoyable time period imo because there was actually a large amount of people playing on smaller servers like that

Could start up a stupid GM server for friends and post it on Ac-Web and you'd have 50 players within the week if it wasn't utterly broken

I think the reason I enjoyed it more is because the progress at the time was outlandish, whereas there's a lot more modding resources and tools now
