I'm not here to shoot down your idea, but I'm not really in support of it either. I think that if your issue stems from having too much mana, you should solve the problem from the root. Your declared reason for wanting to change to % of max mana was because people would have basically "infinite" mana

I was simply wondering if it was 255 server since thats the only place mana is infinite, hence the discussion got brought up
