Hmm. That's odd. The only thing I can think of is if you might have another copy of the DBC patched above it.

If i attempt to change the haircolor using the DB and reload my character, it causes a clientside crash

So if you have one you'd need to edit the one from that patch and not the default WotLK one, and then make sure it's patched above the WoD models.

I have a WoD model patch, but the DBC files for this patch is merged with my existing one :/
