is there a way I could import the alpha ironforge WMO to blender? as i see it the alpha one only has .wmo files not 000.wmo ones

Unless you're fairly technical OR there is already a tool to do this, I would say the chances are pretty slim

I imagine .wmo used to be a single file, and later on they split up groups into their own separate files.

So what that means is that you'd need to read the .wmo file, separate them into a "root" file and "group" files, and write them back to disk.

Try Ironforge from 0.6.0 client. I think it still had alpha Ironforge model, but it already had wmo in new format

there is one tool for porting 0.5.3 wmo14 but it's fucked, there is a working model ported from 0.6 on model-changing though
