So, I'm trying to deal with an mpq with no listfile. I know what *kind* of files are in it for the most part, and as I understand it you can use DBCs to rebuild the listfile, but I'm not sure how you actually go about that. I assume it needs to go in a specific order?
Part of the problem is that I know some of the .xxx are probably .anim files, but I'm not sure where those filenames are listed. I assume I need to get the 010 editor and snag them out of the m2s?

That's not correct, you use the right tool for the job. Just because you know how to use a sledgehammer doesn't make it the appropriate tool for every job
