[Archive] Possible Theroy on how to convert .wmo to .m2/guide on how to.
Quote: Ok well for awhile now I have been playing around with Command Prompt and it can do some really cool/scary stuff. I wrote this guide/theroy to see if it would work. I no longer have wow installed on my computer but this might work. **WARNNING THIS CHANGES ALL .WMOs TO .M2s** and I don't know how to change it back >.>.
First open up Run.

Then type Command Prompt

The Type "assoc.wmo=.m2" then press enter.

And then bam your done I would like to know if this works because I don't have any thing on my comp its new. So I don't know if this will work.

Quote: Doesn't this just rename all the files? I doesn't convert them in any way.

Quote: Really now, think about this. Where does Microsoft have documentation on either format? Where does it store the conversion data for when one attempted this command? It doesn't, is the thing. I'm not very familiar with Command prompt, but I'm thinking that it turns, say, Orgrimmar_001.wmo to Orgrimmar_001.m2, just changes the extension. Really no different than dumping the data into notepad and saving it as an m2.
it's a good try, but this won't work.
