i'm sure there is, auras have always been a mess. It was some of the first real programming I did for a project, and it's still a real headache every time I re-learn it

still, an aura script giving you something dangling is on the core, you're not supposed to just assume that. Most part of the map update is just as safe as those scripts themselves

well a lot of aura scripts I have seen (custom ones) they cache pointers most of the time when I dealt with race conditions was poorly implemented scripts.
