oh, you definitely should consider your architecture before you start writing, and it's very good to discuss that with others as well as a sanity check, what you shouldn't do is worrying about your integer types before you have a very clear picture of what that integer actually needs to store

if that makes sense, because you can very easily paint yourself into a corner by "pre-designing" a system just because you know it's similar to what works for other projects and at least runs fast. If you're new to designing systems, i think the most important part to practice is the `idea -> model` part
