im using AC and we dont use a lot of the SQL for stuff, few things. TC seems to use a lot of skill/spell entries

While it would be easier to mod. i doubt performance would get any better if all DBC data was on a server.

probably worse, sql is slower than reading a file, but its for startup anyways so who cares

but being able to perhaps have all server DBCs on the DB and then have some kind of a export function that automatically pushes to the client would be kinda gold.
