That's simply hosted in a web directory, only piece of software being nginx, no web applications involved?

I have the files in a folder on the host. When game client requests a file it goes through Nginx and if the file is found at the specified path it sends it to the player, if not found, Nginx directs the request to a different folder and sends a file in there instead.

The process works and does what I want it to do, but it’s really slow.
