Hey mates, first time here, and first time trying to mod anything. been reading, and learning as i go little tid bits at a time. I hope this is the right place to ask this question. I have been trying to edit a spell through WoW Spell Editor 1.12.1, copied an existing one and its chained spell and named them 40001, 40002
-I exported the files as .dbc
-moved those files to my mangos data\dbc folder
-created an .mpq (tried thru the spell editor and thru mpq editor) and moved that to data folder of client

so i started up the mangos server, logged into the gm account, and did a .learn 40001 and it wrote syntax error like it does not have that spell in its database or something....idk wtf im doing wrong.

can someone help meh plzz ❤️ ?

Oh I just learned the term "retroport". I think I'm going to give CASC Explorer a whirl again and see if I can just open those MPQs.

Syntax errors aren't the same as Not found errors, this is in general in all software. Syntax in programming or command line interpretation basically means that... whatever you typed is in the wrong formate for example the command could be wrong or... how you specified the ID to it.

I'm not familiar with Mangos - but it sounds like you're using an invalid command
