Currently running into this issue, exported the creature and its skin files and whatnot through CASC Explorer, used the Legion to WoTLK converter and ended up with this.
Gonna repost as it kinda dissapeared up there.

Thanks for replying - tried my best to look through the material's property tab and I couldn't figure it out - could you explain how to do that? (my process so far has been; importing the new hairstyle, deleting an old hairstyle, then renaming the new one to match it whilst setting it's parent to the armature)
