Creature & object spawns need to be sniffed from live servers, then there's a fair amount of cleanup so you don't end up with duplicates, and to get some mobs to path correctly. Anything that's scripted needs to be recreated from scratch, with the sniffed data and/or video as reference

with each expansion, the game has gotten more dynamic. More scripted or pathing NPCs, in multiple phases. The only way to get them, is to take your time while playing the live game. And then it's more data to sift through.

But then anyone wanting to dive in needs to have at least a passing knowledge of c++ or mysql. Either can be difficult to jump into, with no experience.
