So in otherwords, regardless of having a domain, if it is a dynamically assigned public ip, I will have to use a dyndns update type service because needing to use the curent public ip for the "address"field in the realmist table

there is a way (but you shouldnt do that if you want to be able to use the domain name internally) - by making it resolve to external ip all the time, even internally

If you are a business with an email server on prem, and your domain is blah.com you want internal mail and external mail routing properly. sorry, I may not be explaining clearly. Posted my LoginRest config
