You need to put it in your Data folder, then you need to run WoW with the model edit fix.

Right in your data folder, and the model edit live fix goes in just your main WoW folder and you run it from there.

It is not possible to do only your char alone, at best you could do it so it is only you and other players and not NPC's, but that is it I'm afraid.
