I'm pretty new. From what I've learned so far I'd assume auth is necessary for all incoming and outgoing connections and their relations to the worldserver which is populated by the world database schema; where character obviously is information regarding character progression and current / archived states?

And on that note; you probably don't want to delete any databases.

I started the worldserver once with an empty world database and it told me that it needs the trinity_string table

Trinity string is how the server files serve the database's "unique" system messages it seems.

You should make a copy of your world schema by exporting it or making a new table of it as a copy with a new name.
