tech debt is less than stellar coding quality that make things hard to understand, maintain and/or change . it's common with large projects that grow over years.

More than 10 years ago I considered using actor-based concurrency and reactive streams (either Scala or Elixir-Erlang), back then that was the big new old thing. You can imagine what happened. And TC is still here.

(but then again, I still use Scala and actors for concurrency - regardless of being an embedded SW engineer)
