there are hardcoded client values which indicate which version the client is based on (see the recently discussed animationentry shit which expects retail db2 storage size values)

well yeah, classic is a glorified retail client with some downgrades. so the inversive changes are rather small

Shit like update_object, spell_go, spell_cast, etc. change regurarly in normal retail as well
