What point are you trying to make? Of course the servers back then were on the architecture and hardware available at the time. Does that mean TC should support old architecture in perpetuity?

It depends on your point of view. I've seen TC devs argue many times that they should implement something in a legacy way because that's how Blizzard did it 20 years ago.
