it must be some very specific edge case where cleanup isn't done correct; but just looking through source I cannot find such an edge case. anyway I'll wait for a proper crashlog

In the same commit added afew other things to potentially mitigate crashes related to pets or something, idk if this commit message helps at all. Maybe it is tame beast related? Idk was too long ago.
