yes, spellmod snapshot can be one reason (also crit roll)

I'm wondering because spell 435640 does this, so I'm wondering whether Blizzard did this way so that they can safely remove already chosen targets to hit when Goldie shoots at them to ignite them

since there's travel time, it would be inconvenient (and wrong) to choose the same barrel again to shoot at
