usually the cata bois are picking stuff from master as needed (cata classic is based on master branch), 3.3.5 is incompatible in some points due to using the outdated client from 2009

On that, does this mean I don’t get cata through war within in the current master ?
If I get the master branch, will I get cata content, Mysts, etc all the way up to current retail war within ?
(Of course I know some of that content may not be fully functional)

the master branch is for the current live retail client.
cata_classic is for the cataclysm classic client.
Meaning that these branches are for the different game versions that are currently live. Content-wise everything past WotLK is broken in both branches because nobody ever bothered working on it, either due to a lack of time/interest or the tech was/is not there yet.
