Try editing the files I mentioned and restart worldserver/authserver.

Then see if the change survives a restart of the container.

You can change the env vars in the `docker-compose.yml` to point to whichever db instance you need. Then just remove the `ac-database` and all references to it, basically.

iirc each docker container has it's own IP and 127.0.0.1 would point to that container only

^ this, you'd want to put the IP of your host machine

I think you can also put the hostname `host.docker.internal` instead of an IP, though I haven't tried/confirmed this

Yes I think if you are running database on the same machine running docker. To reach database from a container you would want to use whatever that machines IP is on local network.
Like my computer is 192.168.1.X, containers have some subnet and all may have IP like 172.17.0.X, but they can communicate to the 192.168.1.X devices
So in my case I would set IP for database in docker-compose.yml to be my computer at 192.168.1.X, port still 3306

ah and like <@299455931610038282> mentioned, it looks like host.docker.internal should resolve to your local network IP like 192.168.1.X
