for the specific issues you're having, using a VM isn't going to fix it, but it might be easier to reason about if you don't use docker often

yea iam not really good with docker and all that. in unraid it is prettty simple with the community applications. where you can download dockers just like apps in a smartphone appstore. it requires only some small configuration like a path or port etc.

yeah, that's something we're working on. It's not my favorite either. Some modules have their own "initialization" steps that need to be done before they seem to be working too, which can add friction. A lot of modules that define a new NPC may not actually add that NPC and they make it up to the server admin to do so
