Turns out it was as simple as setting the in-game clock to local time lol. Not soemthing I knew existed.

That shows you local time on your client clock, sure - but it doesn't adjust the world time, so events, light levels etc. will still be going off your server time. Not an issue if you like playing at night, but I was getting complaints that people weren't able to find some mobs that only come out during the day etc.

I did a test build on a VM yesterday to make sure I could transfer my DB, which took almost an hour, so I figured it was going to be a while... Forgot how ridiculous my home server is.

[100%] Built target worldserver
real 5m16.544s
user 121m8.107s
sys 8m47.178s

Yeah it's really not bad. I have a branch that keeps a better cache of the ccache so subsequent builds will be quicker but that's not ready just yet
