isn't that because the binaries are generated by a separate build container and it needs to get them over to all the worker containers?

or would you prefer that they hit the host filesystem?

I prefer a container to contain its' own executables. The prod images exist but imo the 2 sets of containers just adds unnecessary complexity.
i maintain an alternative set of docker builds for acore, but I still provide support in here because someone's gotta

i don't really understand the difference between dev and prod containers, so i've stuck to the dev ones since they seem to be default.

another thing I want to fix (simpler) is to propagate the MYSQL root password into all the configuration files. right now if you set it to something better than `password` in the environment variable, all your config files are wrong because they're statically set to `password`. Wondering how many private servers out there have a DB password of `password`.

the logging being written to a file also slightly irks me because docker handles logging on its' own

okay, side question. true or false - the right way to update a config file is to copy the .conf.dist file to a .conf file and then edit the .conf file.

the conf handling is a nightmare
