I'm at select screen, change talentGroupsCount to 2 and when I log in I have two specs

That's because the data has to be imported first, either manually (not recommended) or using the auto updater (which happens when you run authserver/worldserver). Just run authserver once, let it load up and shut it down and then issue that update query.

also, you have to use 'wow.craniumbox.com' with the single quotes or it'll cause an error too
