ahbot made a bunch of auctions. to clear the AH for new settings, I was emptying the `auctionhouse` table rather than expiring them like I should have. So I assume that the items that it listed still "exist" but are orphaned, right?

ooo, i can search by owner_guid and kill those.

potentially, yes. I haven't tested that. I prefer deletion from item_instance. That's final

dropped item_instance down from 800k rows to 2k. that seems worth it. hope i don't need this backup i made.

As long as you're not in production, `drop all` is a sufficient backup
