in vmangos world epics are 0.0025-0.005%
in cmangos classic : 0.004%
cmangos Wotlk : 0.1%
Azerothcore : 0.1%

it's pretty lame tho but I guess blizz did that because vanilal was not relevent anymore and they wanted players to drop epics while leveling

another factor is that XP required to level was reduced by roughly 35% from vanilla to tbc to wotlk
if you spend 35% less time grinding mobs, you find 35% less items, so you increase the droprates to compensate
