Is there a way to edit boss scripts or do I need to recompile each time? For instance I want to remove Lord Marrowgar bone spike. Can I do that any other way than editing the .cpp and then recompiling?

Changing boss scripts inevitably requires you to compile again. But changing a single script should take a couple seconds at most. Unless you press **re-**build, which isn't neccesary.
Another way to disable a spell is to use the `disables` table. It requires a `.reload conf` or a restart to take effect.

I think the disables may be the easier route. I have always done re-build lol..didn't know there was another way. I am new to this only my second week messing around with this stuff

With bots and other mods it takes like 25 min a rebuild

Never do a full recompile unless you're having issues that require it, which is fairly rare.

Good to know. For the sake of learning how would I just compile that one script? Do I have to do the cmake stuff over again?

You only have to run cmake if you add or remove files or modules. You just hit build in visual studio (or run make if on linux) and it'll compile the changes and that's all you need.

Don't hit rebuild or clean, just build (again, if using visual studio)
