I farted around with a personal Asheron's server at home for years. learning JSON files and content creation. just made it mine. The I saw a post about AC meaning AzerothCore... so i followed the link

patch is file added to client with data needed by it to function properly it contains everything from maps textures music to spells and other gameplay data

started reading, and found the guide by Digital Scriptorium. everyone said don't use a repack you don't know. so I just followed his guide. and I have a basic home WotLK server now

i would say if its for u in ur home network and u dont plan going public then u dont have to worry about creating custom patch if u want to do something what needs it

yeah. i've been reading posts about making custom quests with custom rewards. I saw a thing that said NPCbots was the best one. Need to look into that. it's all a big "what can I do question". And according to my wife it keeps me out of trouble

depends also where u live in many countries u are protected in doing whatever u want on ur own pc issues start with distribution which if u are doing it for urself wont happen
