Or maybe I followed the wrong recompiling procedure, not much info on that for the Bash setup that I could find

It would also help to be able to see the cmake output, to make sure it lists the modules you've installed.

The problem with that is that the Bash setup does not have a step for cmake, I think it's included in one of the 2 commands I quoted before maybe? So I don't really know how to run it

It will still print the log for you, at least it should, so you could look before it starts compiling (just before the % values start to appear on the left)
