You can open the visual studio installer and modify the VS installation and make sure to select the C++ desktop development feature. I can't remember the exact name of it but it has C++ and desktop in the name.

I got through the steps in that page and did the BUILD ALL BUILD, but afterwards I didnt have any of the example .dll files

You have to copy the .dll files yourself
