hah well all i did was change the hue of the gems on the armor to match the blue on everything else... i'd expect a shadow sabre to be more purplish or black, and not so much as being blue.

It is a bannable offense according to Blizzards TOS policy for World of Warcraft, but they rarely enforce it. I've been using them for almost a year now.
Make sure you download the ModelEdit fix:
http://www.uberdarknet.com/WoW/modeleditlive.exe - live (689
1. Put the modeleditlive.exe inside your World of Warcraft directory (example: C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\)
2. Place any downloaded or edited .MPQ files into your World of Warcraft Data folder (example: C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Data\)
2. Run the modeleditlive.exe from your World of Warcraft directory, and the game should open automatically. This will enable model changing (make sure you have your custom .MPQ setup)
3. Login to you account.
4. After you've seen the swapped models, close World of Warcraft.
5. You may rename the modeleditlive.exe to anything you want or delete it.
