They don't need to be added because it's not blizzlike to WotLK. The event was a temporary one with the release of the burning crusade and hasn't appeared again since. Someone could implement it but that doesn't mean they *have* to.

Also, scourge invasion was a part of the release of naxxramas - an instance that has since been moved to Dragonblight. Again, it was a one-time event.

I'm not aware of any changes to the pdump system lately. But I can't tell for sure how far it goes back to work flawless.
