It's not a 1:1 thing, each map doesn't have it's own thread

i mean i know that zones in open world are just in 1 continent instance and cases like scarlet monastery is 1 map and so 1 instance for all 4 of them etc

basically what i want to know if u go raid and there is encounter players moving doing dmg lot of packets send to every1 data saved to DB etc etc where is all of this being processed ? in main thread or its own one ?

Neither, it's not its own thread, it's not the main thread, it's in whatever thread is assigned to that map during the map update cycle from the map thread pool

It really depends, it's not that cut and dry, there's a bunch of systems that are bottlenecks in the core and you have to triage and analyze once you hit a performance problem

i was testing my logging module and to my surprise i discovered that doing aoe dps generates shit ton of records in DB to the point where mutex locking in my buffer was increasing latency so i have to rewrite that buffer and im wondering how it works in core if something like that happening in 1 instance would affect another instance
