in my experience with a small player base on AC that looks normal. if AC is designed to tick as fast as possible, then you'll see high CPU usage and small update time diffs. this is exactly what i see on my server

i'd be worried if the update times start exceeding 100ms imo

By default each update runs every 50ms, so the diff shown in server info is what's above 50ms

unless im misunderstanding this post, i thought the time diff was the time it takes to complete an iteration of a world update and hence 1/timeDiff would be the tick rate: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/6224...zerothcore

The worldserver source code is full of Update methods that take as input a diff integer value:
How does it work?
And how is this linked to the "Update time diff" from the .server info command?

but that would mean locally with diff 1ms it would be 1000 ticks which is not happening

if there's not much going on that doesn't seem super unreasonable to me. i've worked with UE3/4 games that have all sorts of real-time physics going on that can update hundreds of times a second if the playercount is low

perhaps im overly optimistic of how AC runs
