Hey everyone. I have a question that may be a bit unorthodox, but still interested in maybe any suggestions that anyone may have. I work a lot, but I work from home. However, I do call center work, so I can't play video games or anything while working. Something I've had a good amount of entertainment from while working is playing idle games. Does any kind of module or program exist which would allow me to have a character play through the game on its own, similar to an idle game? Like an AI just controls my character and goes questing, levelling up professions along the way, etc. That would be pretty cool to watch while working. Any suggestions?

Could try using the Playerbots module and watching the AI. They are still a work in progress from what I understand (I don't use it myself), but the basis is self-playing AI that goes through the game on its own. Sounds like it'd be worth looking into for you, though I'm not sure if you can set one up to play "your" character as you watch, maybe someone more informed can chime in on that

It sounds similar to the hacking tools used by gold sellers. I understand that your use is different, but the aim is the same: to play automatically. Maybe you should look for this type of tool.

Definitely don't want to try to use one of those. Probably riddled with malware or crypto miners. I guess it was worth a shot to see if anything like that existed. Thanks for the suggestions everyone

There is plenty of software that are open-source and confirmed safe. The effort required to code an AI to play for you.. I mean.. yeah. If you look at the playerbots module it's a very bare start but still requires a ton, and I do mean a ton, of work to get to what you want. Besides, what's the point if you're not even playing yourself. I'd just go with npcbots and play whenever you feel like it and have the time to.

Would linking any open-source software be against the server rules? I would be willing to try out something like that if it was something that is genuinely safe
