That sounds like an interesting solution with your own fork

Just to make sure I'm on the same page, when you say clean build you just mean running "Clean" in visual studio and not performing a complete fresh installation?

It seems like for a noobie like me the "easiest" method is to do Clean build and switch to his repository, accepting the risk of waiting a week at times for important fixes?

Yes, you don't have to hit Clean or Rebuild in Visual Studio when you apply the patch, update the source code or the like. You really only have to if you're having issues.

I guess. Applying the patch is easy enough but you can always start with using his fork I suppose.

I suppose that is true, thanks for all of the insight. I'll try just doing the patch method first

Is there a way to automate worldserver commands? For example creating an account. I assume there is, since people have made websites for such a thing. My searching has been pretty fruitless

Soap can interact with the worldserver. That's what websites do. It's not automated, but i assume that's what you refer to.

I see, thanks. Basically, I want to automate the creation of the admin account post-install, rather than typing the commands into the console, and can't figure out an elegant way to do it
