yeah it's definately that... if I use setskill it adds the skill and sets the level but it doesn't show up in the character spellbook or in the skills tab

its definitely in core on TC i had dk with shield and things like that

it feels like a moot point anyway... I can give a caster the bows skill and the shoot spell and they can fire arrows, but the character sheet doesn't list bows and using the bow doesn't increase the skill... I can't even get it to auto shoot
