yes, server is running on a proxmox server in a ubuntu VM on one network, client is W10 machine on a different network, connecting over the internet in a big loop back to my house

Did you change the `address` column in the `realmlist` table from the auth db?

also you need to forward ports if you're connecting over the internet

but maybe the world server isnt, no issues logging into the auth server, just when the client is handed over to the world server

double check you didn't change the default value for the table instead of changing the actual row
