The issue you're currently having isn't really related to azerothcore but rather the database-server. Plenty of issues that a lot of people have haven't encountered themselves and if that hasn't happened they might not bother to learn how to fix a non-existant issue.

To be clear- this isn't an issue with the database server, it's configuration. Humbly, I feel that absolutely should be part of the guide.

It's been at least 10 years since I had issues setting up mysql or mariadb so I don't even remember what the last issue is I had.

You need to connect to mysql to set up the users for azerothcore and that's database-related.

The issue you're having with setting the server up is different, of course, but again it's arch - only the people who *actually* use it can give the perfect support for it.

It is, but these are steps that are 100% required with every installation not covered in the configuration documentation.

It literally just needed a few extra lines in the terminal to finish configuring mariadb after install

People here tend to use what is widely used since it gives close to a guarantee for help.
