Daily quests are by far the easiest and least complex way of doing it as far as I know. Selling items with a currency requirement would require DBC edits, or at least I believe so, and creating a custom NPC that will request items and give another one as a reward most likely is more complex than adding quests too.

is there an "easy" way to make it like the npc has a "tree" of dialogues? like let's say i would create a NPC that offers all the crafting like a leathworker. so that you can first select if it is vanilla, tbc or wrath content, if then clicked on vanilla, it has another array of options like "leaher amor" or "mail armor" and so on
i think otherwise it would be gigantic clusterfuck
