The first time I got it a few seconds after killing a mob, turned out and then they got disconnected. It's also random which characters.

The second time I was running from crossroads to thousand needles (level 25 and no mount until 40, ugh) and got disconnected as I ran.

it might be related to the old system, if you try the new one out you may have better results

Again, I've had the same issues with Warden in general before I decided to just not use it. I don't remember if the error was exactly the same but the disconnect issue has existed for me for a long time.

I think before I was ignoring the return buffer when I should be reading from it, in the new PR it clears the buffer properly

One thing I noticed with the code I have that you first gave me though is that if the client takes a while to log in to the selection screen, the box doesn't appear. One of the PCs I use currently has a HDD instead of an SSD, for reasons that doesn't matter, and that makes it take a while to log in with that many characters.
