when I'm running my VM which has my dev environment on it and local server I just share my host network into the VM which is definitely a vulnerability but it avoids the networking troubles

but at the same time I'm not using the VM to be secure, it's just nice to have an isolated environment for all the tools so I don't have to install them on my host

on my laptop I have a remote linux server for any other development because there's no way virtualbox will run on here
