With multiboxing?
You need 5.1 speakers, one character is your sound source, and you arrange the other 4 like this. Then you click the float on the window you hear the sound coming from.

Just for the record, there's easy ways around it and there's no point doing it the extremely tedious way if you don't have to. It does require database changes, though.
