It also just hit me that wouldn't this kind of be stepping on some toes? I mean, you're technically not allowed to distribute the files from the client - how does it look if the server actually supports modifying those files?

I don't mean the whole deal with you modifying the dbc files on your end, just that some people might view it as if AC suggests that you should edit them. I'm just trying to understand the whole thing.

I mean given the module system, I always assumed AC was all about custom content, so much so that someone told me that the goal would eventually be to just be an MMO framework, separate from Wow entirely

I do understand that it would help modules etc that use modified dbc since they just have to include the changes in a SQL and not distribute the modified files and everything.

and it also makes it much easier to work together if multiple sources modifies same dbc
